Timothy Ray Brown suffered from both leukemia and HIV when he received a bone marrow stem cell transplant in Berlin, Germany in 2007. The transplant came from a man who was immune to HIV, which scientists say about 1 percent of Caucasians are. (According to San Francisco's CBS affiliate, the trait may be passed down from ancestors who became immune to the plague centuries ago. This Wired story says it was more likely passed down from people who became immune to a smallpox-like disease.)

EFCC Arrest For Speaker Dimeji Bankole

Huhuonline can disclose that the embattled former speaker of the House of Representatives, Oladimeji Bankole, has been arrested by EFCC. Rt. Hon. Bankole,who is set to formally hand over tomorrow to the seventh session of the House of Representatives, had said he will meet with the antigraft agency, on Monday at 2pm, after refusing to honour two previous invitations.

Confirming his arrest, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC explained that its operatives arrested the former Speaker of the House of Representatives ahead of the Monday date he gave to surrender himself because he was discovered to be plotting other schemes to thwart his voluntary surrender or arrest on Monday.

Harold Camping says world will actually end in October

OAKLAND, Calif. – A California preacher who foretold of the world's end only to see the appointed day pass with no extraordinarily cataclysmic event has revised his apocalyptic prophecy, saying he was off by five months and the Earth actually will be obliterated on Oct. 21.
Harold Camping, who predicted that 200 million Christians would be taken to heaven Saturday before catastrophe struck the planet, apologized Monday evening for not having the dates "worked out as accurately as I could have."
He spoke to the media at the Oakland headquarters of his Family Radio International, which spent millions of dollars_ some of it from donations made by followers — on more than 5,000 billboards and 20 RVs plastered with the Judgment Day message.

It's hard to feel bad for someone whose doomsday predictions caused so much anxiety, but 89-year-old Harold Camping's recent admission that he's "flabbergasted" the world didn't end last weekend sounds somewhat pitiful.
"It has been a really tough weekend," Camping said Sunday, after emerging from his Alameda, California home for the first time to talk to a reporter from the San Francisco Chronicle. "I'm looking for answers ... But now I have nothing else to say," he said, adding that he would make a full statement today.

The World Is Coming To An End On May 21, 2011

The End off the World prediction for May 21st is spreading all over the internet, but it is not what you think it is.
