Reps Member, Dr. (Mrs) Uche Ekwunife Caught With Pants Down.... See Video

Uche Ekwunife is a member of the Federal House of Representatives. She represents Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia federal constituency in Anambra State. She came to Abuja in 2007

Curiously this woman, who has a Bachelor ’s Degree in Accountancy and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), is one of the most ‘mobile’ politicians of our time. She was originally a member of the Progressive Peoples Alliance( PPA). When she found out that she could better feather her nest in the Peoples’ Democratic Party ( PDP) she moved there . Then the All Progressive Grand Alliance ( APGA) showed some class in the east, then to the chagrin of her followers, she jumped ship. Next bus stop, APGA.

Nigeria’s growing kidnap industry

By Ifedayo Adebayo

Last month, a young couple in Lagos announced that their only child, 10-month old Enioluwa, had been kidnapped. Investigators would later learn that the kidnapping was planned across three West African Countries ; Nigeria, Cameroun and Republic of Benin. The case also showed how large a business kidnapping has become, how well planned and intricate.
Enioluwa's kidnappers had executed their crime through a nanny agency. Kidnapping has metamorphosed over the years in Nigeria. What sprung from the struggle for resource control in the Niger Delta region has invariably spread to other parts of the country.

1. (C) Chevron Nigeria security consultant Hamish MacDonald shared concerns that a large amount of money was paid for the release of the Delta hostages and an industry of hostage-taking may be in the offing. Chevron has managed thus far to stay out of harm's way, but MacDonald feels the urgent need to expand internationally-supported, long-term development programs. He plans to discuss the matter privately with Delta State Governor Ibori. Chevron will be welcoming a new Managing Director, and, with his arrival, MacDonald expects Chevron to transition from an expansion mode to one of consolidation. End Summary.

Chevron Worries about Deal Struck to Release Hostages

2. (C) At a March 29 meeting with the Ambassador, Chevron security consultant Hamish MacDonald said Chevron was "blindsided" by the commitments made to effect the March 26 release of three hostages held by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND). He said company sources indicated "a very large amount" of money had changed hands for this release, far more than in the release of hostages in January, and if true, we might be witnessing the birth of an industry. The Ambassador replied that the USG commitment remained strictly a willingness, at the invitation of the GON, to observe a newly created development commission that might include members of the aggrieved communities which harbor the hostage takers.

3. (C) MacDonald compared MEND to the IRA, noting its small size relative to its demonstrated ability seriously to disrupt oil operations, as well as its facility for manipulating the media. He felt MEND was targeting companies with poor community relations and business practices and, as such, Chevron still enjoyed an uneasy immunity from attacks.
Polcouns observed that both Willbros and Tidex had bad reputations among communities. MacDonald observed that Chevron was consequently rethinking its relationships with various contractors. He admitted that the oil companies did not have a uniform approach to the largest service companies which they all must use.

Petroleum Bill suffers yet another setback

The Senate on Thursday has postponed yet another debate on the much delayed Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) thus frustrating another attempt at passing a bill on long-delayed reforms to Africa's largest energy industry, making it unlikely the ambitious bill will pass before nationwide elections next month.

The Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), which is expected to redefine Nigeria's economic relationships with its foreign oil partners and alter everything from fiscal terms to the structure of the state-oil firm, has become synonymous with missed deadlines.

2. (C) A U.S. businessman and reputed lobbyist, based in the Washington D.C. area, recently told us that former Delta State Governor Ibori would like to establish a development trust fund for Nigeria, endowed with 20 to 50 percent of funds he "acquired" over the years, in return for promises by foreign governments not to prosecute him. This contact estimated Ibori's "acquired" earnings at some three billion U.S. dollars. As part of Ibori's proposal, an international board of directors would oversee trust fund spending, with five persons selected by the international community, including the United States and United Kingdom, and the remaining four chosen by Nigeria.

Oshiomole denies content of wikileaks cables

Governor Adams Oshiomhole has denied accusing Jonathan of voting four times in the 2007 election.

An exclusive from 234next news paper had reported at the weekend that Oshiomhole accused the President of voting four times at the 2007 polls.

But in a reaction yesterday, the state government said: “Our attention has been drawn to the story published yesterday (by a) newspaper, which falsely alluded that the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole told some United States (U.S.) diplomats in December 2008 that President Goodluck Jonathan voted four times as Vice President in the April 2007 election.

Revealed! Wikileaks cable exposes Jonathan's multiple voting in 2007

As a candidate for vice president in 2007, Goodluck Jonathan took matters into his own hands — literally. According to US diplomatic cables leaked to the whistleblower site Wikileaks, and which were made exclusively available to us, Mr. Jonathan helped himself gain the vice presidency four years ago by voting illegally four times. The astonishing accusation against Mr. Jonathan, now a president seeking validation at the polls next month, came from Edo governor Adams Oshiomhole, in a December 2008 briefing with US diplomats.

According to Mr. Oshiomhole, as reported in the US diplomatic cables, the court ruling voiding the supposed election of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Edo governor and declaring Mr. Oshiomhole the legitimate winner would not have been possible without documentary evidence that, Mr. Jonathan, among others, personally rigged the election.

Nigerian Pastor Plead Guilty To Sexual Assault On Young Boys

For years, UK based Nigerian Pastor, Albert Odulele`s day job was pastor Glory House International located in Kent, London. But unknown to many of his parishioners, who allowed him access to their young children, Pastor Odulele had a very dark side; he is a paedophile and took interest in sexual molestation of young boys.

Dr. Albert Odulele, who was arrested last summer over charges of indecent assault of a child under 16 years old, and sexual assault of another male teenager, pleaded guilty to both charges, at Bexley Magistrates' Court in south east London and was committed for sentencing at Woolwich Crown Court on a date yet to be set.
Reports have it that the alleged sexual assaults took place in 2003 and 2004.

Oba of Lagos Endorse President Jonathan

You are a man of your words and your star is bright. I wish u well." With these words, Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu expressed best wishes to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, as he flagged off the Lagos presidential campaign rally today
The Oba recalled with nostalgia how the president led the Presidential campaign team to Lagos as running mate of the late Umaru Musa Yar'adua in 2007.

"That day you were sitting with other party members there, and I invited you to come and sit by my throne. I saw your shining star then. It is still shining, and God would not allow it to go dim. The Almighty God will see you through," he said.

Bode George Movement (BGM) and PDP Perception of Corruption

The PDP government has now seen a “Role Model” in an ex-convict, Bode George. This is outrageous. A man was jailed from a case that was initiated by EFCC, a government anti-corruption agency and only to be treated like hero by the same government. A group that called itself Bode George Movement (BGM) had taken up full page advertisement in some dailies eulogizing the new virtue of Bode George as symbolized by the heroic welcome granted him by government and members of the ruling PDP. The BGM insinuated that Bode George is their hero and role model. It went on to query that what Bode was jailed for was nothing compared with what most today Nigeria politicians do on daily basis.

Lagos: Jonathan Presidential Campaign Witness Low Turn Out

If the scanty crowd that attended President Goodluck Jonathan is anything to go by, then he and his party , the PDP has a lot of works to do to have a firm grasp of some important areas of the country especially , Lagos which together with the North West are expected to influence the final results of the April polls.

While many expect President Goodluck Jonathan to win Nigeria's April election, his Tuesday’s visit to Lagos which is an opposition’s stronghold shows the leader holds a shaky grasp in some states. Jonathan came to Lagos on Tuesday with Vice President Nnamdi Sambo as part of his campaign to travel to each of the oil-rich country's 36 states ahead of the April 9 election.
